Diet for a six pack and why you should avoid low calorie diet ??

In this post which I called it diet to get six pack  i want to focus on only one thing which is the calorie intake, i will not discuss the type of  food you should eat now but i promise to discuss it on another post.

Most people think that the  best way to get a six pack  is to restrict your calorie too much , cut the carbohydrates and all type of fats or restrict it too much!  but what they dont know is that by doing that they trigger their body defense mechanism to act against them and they will never loose fat neither be able to build the abs or muscles in general.

But most people are so much brain wasched by the six pack fast type of sdvertising as I always mentioned.

So lets dive in to the details, why you should avoid very law caloie diet??

1-  very low calorie diet will slow down your metabolism!

That s right, the first thing that occurs during a sever  calorie shortage is a decrease in your metabolic rate, the lower your calories the slower your metabolism becomes.Simply put, when you eat less your body burns less ,when you eat more your body burns more.

when calories are restricted the metabolism decreases by 20-30%  , this why after prolong calorie  dieting you can eat very little food  and still not lose weight,  this also explain why most peole stuck in the middle of burning their extra fat and their weight will never go down, and if  it does they will lose water and muscles mainly, not fat.

2-   low calorie diet will make you loose muscles.

f you are after six pack muscle you should never lower your calori  intake too much.

Once the starvation alarm is triggered with in your body it will begin to look for way to conserve energy, muscle is ametabollicaly active tissue and the body will burn it to get the energy in aprocess called glconeogensis, whichwill convert muscles in to glucose.

Very low calorie diet without excerise will lead to 40-50%  of weight loss to come from the lean tissue , and yes you have to exercise to get a six pack but that’s not our main topic here.

3-  low calorie diets increase activity of  fat storing enzymes which called lipo protein lipase and  and decreases the production of  fat burning enzymes.

4-  It decreases the out put of thyroid hormones.

Thyroid gland is the gland that is responsible for regulation of your basal metabolic rate ,the more your diet is restricted in calorie the less T3 hormones produced , your metabolic rate will decrease as a consequence and few calories will be burned.

5-  Rebound weight gain,  very resticted calorie as I explained above will lead to a slow metabolism  and when that happen you will hit aplatueau and will never Lose  more weight , that when people get frustrated and quit that restricted diet, most of them will start to eat too much and they will gain the weight they loss very fast , in addition to that the lost weight was mostly water and muscles any way wich will rebound and come back quickly.

All that will lead to what icall the yo – yo diet.

6-  Increases appetite to craving , a study done on a group of people who were going through a very restricted diet , and it reveals that most of them almost all the time were thinking about only one thing, guess what was it ?? Right! Food, and because of that they will start to crave for  sweety food and food in general and stiking to that diet will be almost immposible.

7-  decreases your energy and work capacity , which you don’t want ,you will need to do your six pack exersices ,  and be energized .

Diet for a six pack should never be aboult calori restriction , the next time you hear some one  in Tv  talks about going through restricted diet to burn your extra fat and build your muscles or write about it you know what to tell your self , bullshit!!!

So What is the fastest way to get a six pack any way??


I do ask a lot of people when they ask me about how to have a six pack I ask the m in return ,what do they think , what does it takes to reach their goals and how to get a ripped six pack??

Most of time they do answer my question with , oh I just want to be like your self, loose the extra weight , build muscles and have an amazing body!! And I always reply ,ok, but you did not answer my question , what exactly do you want? Any I always receive not so pleasant look after I ask them that question, they think iam being rude or I just want to Embarrass them or something, but I do really mean it, what exactly do you want??

Here what I mean by that question, it is clear to me that you want six pack abs, great , but what exactly your plan and step by step action to do that??

Setting general goals, and say what you want is get a six pack fast is vague! that’s so general goal , and most people will not achieve a lot of what they wanted  because they think in so broad way not in a specific way, I mean they don’t know the art of goal setting and follow through ,and that’s why most of them fall into  how to get six pack abs in 3 weeks Type of advertising.

 Here is what you should do if you want it:

1-Set specific goals:-

Narrow your goal down, down to the digits , eg how many pounds do you want to loose( from body fat) first, and what measurements do you like to have ?

2- Set measurable goals:

You have to measure your progress regularly, unfortunately the scale alone is not enough, actually the scale might deceive you

Important measures you should do : 

Total body fat percent

Total body watter percent

And total body muscle mass.

We will go latter in to the details of how to measure each one, but for now you should know that those are the figures that you should always check and worry about .

3-Set big goals

Set high expectation , be a big dreamer but in action, never say I cant look like that or oh I cant do that iam too old, too fatty , or too skinny , …

When I started I used to stick a photo of one of my favourites  bodybuilders  whom i wanted to be like him, I used to tell my self I will definitely look even better than him, guess what , I do now look far more better than him.

4-Set realistic deadlines.

This will help you avoid procrastination , deadlines are very important , it motivates you to reach your target on time, even if you didn’t reach your targeted goal you will reach some thing very close to that, just be realistic when you set your deadlines.

Remember, there is no unrealistic goals there are only unrealistic deadlines.

 5- Know why do you want to reach your goal and why are you running after that goal specifically.

I mean you have to identify the reason why and the exact purpose of that goal, l,this is so important, because when the going gets tought, when those days comes. when you don’t feel motivated to go to the gym,or stick to eating the right food, and you feel like you wanna mess-up every thing you started, your why will push you hardly

 6- write down your goal and make sure it doesn’t conflict with your others goals, write always in a form of affirmation, and put that paper in a place that you can see daily,eg on the bedroom mirror , and each day when you read it visualise that you have achieved it , see yourself having those ripped six pack abs, bulky muscle and having the body of your dream.

To get six pack abs – An honest heart to heart talking.

To get six pack abs you should know exactly what you are doing my friend, and what it really takes to achieve your goals. The way that you will approach the all thing will definitely determine whether you will succeed or fail, I learned this the hard way , so I guess I should make it clear from the beginning.

Unfortunately we are living in a society which for decades now have been dominated

By media and big pharmacy companies who are trying to make us believe that we need to take their pills to solve each and every problem we suffer from and even if we don’t have any problems we need to take their supplements and drugs other wise we will perish!!  just so they can make billions selling crap to each and every one of us.

TV shows misled the people all the time, telling them about the latest fancy diets which give people so fast results, and oh do you want to get ripped fast? , no problem at all they defiantly  have the blue magical pill just made for the people like you and me  and all we need to do is just combines that with  a 10 minutes six pack abs workout ,and oh my god we will have the most amazing bodies that we ever dreamed about.

Nutritional companies also have its own lobby , those guys owns multibillion dollars international corporation , they have their rolodex of  six pack abs diet super stars , they pay them millions so that they can feature them in their magazines advertising their latest nutritional packages

If that stare or body builder was honest with himself and some one just dared to question his honesty in front of his face and ask him ,tell me really , how to to get six pack abs ,maybe he might tell you the truth , but in the presence of millions of dollars transferred directly to his back account I drought he will.

Bull shit crap, you know that, a lot of people know that reality but still they fall in those traps and buy in to them, I guess they love being scammed and hypnotized! So they can tell themselves they are doing some thing to reach their goals and avoid doing what it really takes!

Im being honest with you my friend, I wanted the first post in my blog to be an eye opener , I wanted you to see the truth so obviously like day and night ,To get six pack abs and the body of your dream forget about quick fixes, it doesn’t work.
